Attack of the Season

It's officially summer!!!!

Weddings, beautiful hot weather, birds are singing and the sun is shinning....right?

Yes!.....except this is mosquito season, allergy season, sleepless nights in a house with no air-conditioning, and our slow season begins at work.

My allergies have been killing me this year! I have had no sleep because my nose is clogged up all night long and I hate breathing out of my nose because I have this fear of spiders crawling in my mouth. I know....gross!

During the day I would be sneezing all day long and having to blow my nose and my nostrils would fluctuate from one nostril to the other of being clogged. FRUSTRATING!

I've taken all the allergy meds and none of them worked for me...

Until recently I've discovered...Allegra D. I've only taken it for 2 days now...but last night I only woke up twice because of my nose being clogged for a little while, and I actually woke up early to hit the gym!

So far so good! I'm instantly happy!

Mosquitos have not been such a joy kill for me so far this year...I haven't been bitten as often this past year partly because (I think) I've become a vegetarian. I think it had something to do with my blood or my skin with eating meat that it made mosquitos go after me. Don't get me wrong, I have been bitten this year and when I did it looked like this...

my perfume is always bug spray.

Why is it that no one wants to eat chinese food when its hot? I mean I totally understand in some ways where its bikini season you don't want to load up on carbs. But there are healthy dishes and you don't need to be a fat ass and eat all fried stuff. Although sometimes you want to be a fat ass and each all the delicious things but honestly don't just abandon us during the beautiful weather...

I understand that chinese food is comfort food thats why whenever its raining or really ugly outside we are super busy. I like the rain because of this. ::Sigh::: I miss the rain.....

Also, when it is extremely hot outside...you probably would want something cold...like a sandwich or a salad...maybe popsicles and froyo....I totally understand this point...

Just come by later when you're hungry later in the day when it gets cooler...ok?

Thanks.

Unmannered Child

Theres this couple who had a baby. This baby is a girl and is now 6 years old.

She is the most unmannered, Impolite, child I have ever met.

They just let her whistle all through dinner. (One of my pet peeves is whistling...ANNOYING)

Spit through her straw

Let her climb around the restaurant, laying on top of the booths, and just letting her play all over the restaurant like its a jungle gym.

As I'm writing this she is actually staring at me while spinning on the bar stool.

The parents....what do they do? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

One time there was an older lady having lunch and when she was leaving she was super livid about the little girl being totally rude and not well mannered at all. But she was upset with the parents not doing anything about it. Thats when I realized WOW! I'm not the only one who feels that way this little girl has no clue that she's being brought up to be an asshole.

I'm not one to tell people how to raise their child but c'mon have some common sense and be considerate of the people around you.

By the way...the Dad...in my opinion totally bought his wife from Korea...Mail order style. No. Joke.

That is all..

JURY DUTY

I have been selected to do jury duty about four times my whole life.

The first time was about 7 years ago....I didn't know what to expect. I wore nice work clothes...thinking I was going to become a lawyer or something...and all I did for about 5 long hours was sitting in a freezing cold room with about 50 other strangers.

The second time I came prepared. I brought a huge stack of magazines and worse warm clothes. But I ended up watching "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" on the T.V. they had in the room.

The 3rd time I came prepared with a book and my iPod...but they actually needed everyone who was summoned and if you couldn't stay for the 3 month long murder trial then you had to have a good excuse....well...my excuse is always...WORK! Who doesn't have to work for 3 months?!? I had to go in front of the Judge and the lawyers and tell them that I am a manager of my families business and I actually work and don't get paid if I don't show up....

The lawyer who was defending the killer...wanted me to stay on as a juror because she kept asking me all these insane questions like "How come someone else can't fill in for you?"...Uh..because I haven't trained anyone to fill my position Ma'am!...I think she wanted me to stay on as a juror because I was ethnic...and young....sorry ma'am I've seen "The Juror" with Demi Moore and I'm not about to get killed by the mob.

Finally they excused me...

Recently I just got summoned for The District Court in San Francisco. The first time they summoned me I wrote a letter to be excused for the case and they excused me...for two whole months and then I got summoned again.

So last Tuesday I woke up at 4:30AM MAY 1st (AKA: MAYDAY Protest, where everyone loves to complain about working, which I was jealous of everyone working when on this day where I couldn't work and had to do my civil duty as a citizen and go to jury duty)

My parents felt bad for me so they decided to come along with me to San Francisco, so that I wouldn't be stuck in traffic, we drove really fast in the car pool lane! And I arrived 30 minutes early!

My parents had to use the bathroom so they came in with me to the court house...

They walked me to the Jury Assembly room and a woman scanned my juror badge and gave me a reimbursement form for the toll bridge and while I was filling it out I asked my mom if we were going to take the bay bridge home and as she was about to answer me this fucking asshole cut her off and said "She is the juror not you! She is a big girl! She can fill out her own form! You can move! Step aside!" Uhmmm.....NO SHIT YOU ASSHOLE! MIND YOUR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS! Even the lady who was helping me looked at him like What....the....fuck? That old guy wore an earring.....thats all I have to say....my mom and I just looked at each other and rolled our eyes and they left....while I went to go find a seat and was plotting how to get this guy back... I was thinking about tripping him....or....I'm not sure what but I was super angry. I still can't get over it.....ok I'm over it....

Ok so as all 60 of us potential jurors were led to the court room....about 1/3 of us wanted to be excused (including me) the trial was going to be for 10 days in San Francisco, and honestly I just can't and don't have the time right now. So I told the Judge that I manage a family restaurant and my employees are college students...which is true I am not lying.

Honestly...If I didn't have to work I would want to try out being a juror one day. Well maybe next year when I get summoned again.

OH! I got paid $40 for the day plus $0.55 a mile round trip plus the bridge toll. That adds up to about $100.00.

And...if you don't show up for Jury Duty your fine is 3 days in Jail.

Learning Photography

One of my New Years Resolutions was to learn photography, so in order to do that I needed to buy a camera to learn on it.

After a month of extensive research....I finally bought my camera

Canon EOS REBEL T2i DSLR

Yesterday I took a 3-hour class on photography in San Francisco at Citizen Space

I learned the basics of using my camera on Manuel and not on Automatic.

I definitely need more practice and some more teaching but here are some shots that I took yesterday

That's all folks!

If you would like to donate your time to me and teach me more you can contact me here

 OR

If you'd like to be my model so that I can practice on you, you can contact me here

Balls

Since it's Super Bowl season I thought it would be appropriate to write a post about Football....

I was a cheerleader for about 8 years and I never really enjoyed watching football because I never really understood the game. It's way too confusing with the yards and the downs and the scores of 7 and 2...I mean I sort of get it now because I've asked a lot of questions about the game....

Anyways, when I was about 9 years old, I broke my left pinky finger. This was the only bone I've ever broken my entire life. And this is how I broke it...catching a football!!!

I remember this day very clearly...

We were right outside Peking Palace on the sidewalk throwing a football around...it was my brother, the Asia cafe girls, and this really hot waiter from Geezers...

This guy....I mean...I wanted to catch anything he was throwing my way....

what he ended up throwing was a god damn football that broke my pinky.

I was so afraid to tell my mom...so my brother wrapped my finger with a popsicle stick and tape until I was brave enough to show my mom what had happened.

I've always been a fan of baseball..(GO SF GIANTS!)  (Not NY Giants) (Which by the way I am going for just because I like their name)

My brother and I...and the Asia Cafe girls would play baseball on the large grassy field where the new court house now sits upon...

One time I was the pitcher and I threw the ball to my brother at bat and he swung and hit the ball so hard straight into my face!

I remember that we had a time out for awhile because my face was out of commission.

So I'm not a fan of balls....when I go to a baseball game I like to sit where no foul balls can fly towards me.

So...thats all I have to say about balls...

Thanks for reading.

When Grown Men Act Like Babies.

I'm in the process of my 30 day challenge.

30 days of exercising for an hour.

So this morning I decided to go to a spin/cycle class at my gym

So here we are all getting sweaty and spinning....

I look in the mirror to my left and see this man behind me, NOT spinning with his hands folded across his chest.

???????????????????

Towards the end of the class the spin instructor gets off her bike and walks towards the man...

He says "What happened to what we talked about?"

She says "I'm still thinking about it"

He says "really?"

She says "Not really"

she walks away and says "I have something for you at the end"

Ok so then we are still sweating and spinning...and he still has his arms folded across his chest not spinning....

the last song comes on...its a hillbilly song (thats what someone yelled out that it sounded like)

and they turn to the man and said "C'mon its your kind of music!"

and he says "this is watered down country music!"

And keeps his hands crossed for the rest of the class....

So this man was upset because he didn't like the music the instructor was playing for the class so he just sat there like a big baby...waahhhh wahhhh wahhhhh

I've come across a lot of men acting like babies but this one takes the cake!

My Future Home

One of my goals this year is to buy a house.

I've been watching a lot of HGTV at the gym and the realtor always asks the person what are you looking for when finding the right place? I've given a lot of thought to that question...

My 3 requirements would be:

1. Open kitchen
2. Big backyard for a garden and for my dog to run around in.
3. Walk in closet

And since recently I've been obsessed with Pinterest and Tumblr I've collected a few pictures of what I would want my future home to look like....

My walk-in closet

 Dream Kitchen

Living Space

 BackYard

My Bedroom

 Bathroom

What do you guys think? Should I start saving my pretty pennies now?
